Play a Game to Relieve Work Stress!

 

New research on recovering from work stress! Recently, researchers compared digital games and mindfulness apps. It turned out that digital games were significantly more effective in helping adults recover from work stress than the mindfulness apps. The key characteristics of an activity that helps in recovering from stress, included:

  • Allowing you to disconnect psychologically,
  • something relaxing,
  • Something that involves development of sense of mastery,
  • Having control over the output.

Active social exercise is still the gold standard after a stressful day at work (team sports are ideal), but games can be surprisingly effective.
